When the Circus comes to town (and loses money)

“ If you ever start feeling like you have the goofiest, craziest, most dysfunctional family in the world, all you have to do is go to a state fair. Because five minutes at the fair, you'll be going, 'you know, we're alright. We are dang near royalty.” –Jeff Foxworthy

It’s that time of year again when the sights and sounds of a carnival sideshow take center stage in Missouri politics.. It’s a new state legislation session. And there’s very little doubt that it will be yet another recycled “big tent” spectacle–fueled with dysfunction and the unproductiveness of the super-majority.

With the newly formed “Freedumb”.. I mean the “Freedom” caucus and the recycled extreme pieces of legislation that are manufactured culture wars deeply rooted in White Supremacy.

But while that should be the main focus point that needs to be front and center–there’s another key issue that folks working in the political sphere should look at.

Between the “soap opera” spats to the WWE cage matches on the legislative floor–this maladjustment follows the GOP around like they’re the character from “Pig Pen” from the cartoon Peanuts under a “Big Red Tent” .

I mean they’ll do anything to bring themselves relevant, including targeting individuals to promote political retaliation. Including taking screenshots of parts of conversations on social media and peeping out windows to video Missouri state Rep Ashley Aune dancing on the House steps on the last day of the congressional session. And all this to manufacture some kind of outrage among the mass population of Missourians.

But that’s the thing MAGA clowns don’t understand is that everyone is tired of their nonsense. Their constant nonsense, scandals, and overall ridiculous legislation have split the party into two groups as we saw with the “adults of room” in the St.Charles Republican committee left.

In fact, the whole “big red” circus is causing issues with the local committees (and the whole point of any party committee is to fundraise and throw a few shindigs to raise party morale) to be able to do their job.

Because you can trust the coveted demographics of voters (Moderates and Independents) are seeing the unproductiveness, political theater, and drama. They also see the bullying that members of Hippodrome due to constituents and colleagues.

Plus folks are not big fans of actual fascism and “bigger government” intruding into their daily lives. And folks show them by cutting off the endless tap of money that the GOP is accustomed to.

So when folks like Jess Piper, Randi McCallian, or Jamie Howard step into the ring and point out that distractive politics doesn’t work for anyone. The clown brigade gets all kinds of “Big Mad”. So mad that they attempt to send the “angry mob” of their whole 2 followers on social media to attack them.

However, with Jess, the Mo GOP became very personal. And went so far as to dox her, and went so far to weaponize the Missouri Election Commission over a fraudulent  $30 donation (she had no control); Slapping her with a 1,000 dollar fine.

This was to set an example to other candidates running that if they get “too loud” there will be consequences to be had. Of course, this sets a dangerous and terrifying precedent for our elections.

And you might be asking why. Well, that’s a very straightforward answer. All the ongoing nonsense that you see on the national and state levels hurts their fundraising.

It’s just common sense not to support a candidate or party that can’t get anything accomplished for constitutes. So, the sole purpose of the local party committees (and that’s to raise money) diminishes, and they lose their grip on influence and putting them on the same playing field as everyone else. Which is great for actual “Fair elections”, but I digress.

One could argue that the main reason the Mo GOP decided to make Jess an example is because that woman is a fundraising “fiend” (In a good way). During her election, her fundraising ran laps around the Mo GOP without even breaking a sweat. And since the Mo GOP is littered with a bunch of control freaks with fragile egos–it just wouldn’t stand for a single woman to out-fundraise them in one cycle.

Not only is the state party starting to feel the “money drought”, but so is the RNC from all the ridiculousness of the “SiLeNt MiNoRiTy” (oddly enough is the loudest of them all) that plays out on the national stage.

And I just want to remind y’all that what you see on t.v. with the GOP “Cage” matches what you see in D.C. is the same nonsense we see in Mo Leg (by the same party) all day, every day.

In short, the Republicans are starting to lose from their circus shenanigans, making us realize that the progressive family’s dysfunction is mild compared to the carnival attract. So, buckle up and keep your body appendages in the car at all times, folks –this new session is going to be a wild ride!

As always take care and take care of one another,

Lots of love,

Jojo
