“When leaders tolerate mediocrity, it’s a cancer that spreads like wildfire.”
― Frank Sonnenberg There’s no better quote to describe our current state governing body in Jefferson City. Between the underfunded schools, potholes that are roughly about the size of the continent of Asia, and state agencies so understaffed that they can’t function as they should. Our poor state has become such a ghastly place that it could be mistaken for a third-world country. However, I would argue that Congressional District 8 is “ground zero” of the social experiment that the GOP decided to test-run their policies on. And clearly, this cancer has spread throughout the state. However, now they have decided to push it on to a national level by giving us Eric Schmitt as a senate candidate. A small novel could be written about Schmitt and his antics, but that would barely cover his descent into the empty pit of depravity with his political showboating, stances, and willingness to overthrow the government. As a Missouri State Senator, he didn’t make many waves. The only real notable thing he accomplished was voting twice to allow foreign companies to buy up our farmland. Since the laws were loosened back in 2013, approximately 100,000 acres have been sold to China. Yes, you read that right, China. And the irony is the same people Eric tries to impress– Are talking about how bad of an idea it is to sell land to China and a huge national security risk. In the bigger scheme of things, I personally have to agree with this since CAFOs are mainly the type of operation “ Big Ag” runs. Not only are they inhumane but they also destroy family-owned farms and our environment through massive pollution. So, in hindsight, maybe this should have been our first clue as to how destructive Eric was going to get as Attorney General. And it’s when he was appointed to the position in 2019 that he’s done nothing but pander to “MAGA”. The headlines he grabs are prime examples of just how far he has fallen into a very tragic comedy. When the pandemic hit and mask mandates were a thing ( not so much for the state of Mo) he sued at least half of the school districts in the state over requiring them. Then he has sued over vaccine mandates even though it was only at the federal level employees. Then January 6th came around, and he signed off on making our presidential election illegitimate and completely embraced the insurrection that has left a deep stain on our governing institutions and the fabric of our very Republic. Tell you how enthralled Schmitt is with MAGA and welding absolute power. He immediately signed one of the strictest abortion bans in the US into law. The very minute that the Supreme Court passed down the decision to overturn Roe. He didn’t care that Roe is extremely complicated or that privacy is a fundamental right promised by the US Constitution. Then of course there’s his latest scandal involving Agape boarding school. Which I wrote about in my last blog entry. Schmitt is completely okay with a child(slave/sex) trafficking ring that’s been going on for 20 years. The only reason he’s now pretending to do anything about these places is due to he’s hoping it will win him a senate seat and be seen as some kind of champion… So, the question remains is Eric Schmitt fit to hold a public office? The simple answer is no. He doesn’t give a damn about anything other than to obtain power. And we already have one useless senator that’s an insurrectionist named Josh Hawley. So let’s make sure that folks like Schmitt get the message that his kind doesn’t represent us as a people nor share our values. Elections have consequences, don’t make Eric Schmitt one of those consequences we’ll live to regret later. Much love and Peace out Jojo.
